Give us this day our daily bread, millions say. Most have forgotten the part about forgiving us our sins. Especially Monsanto engineers who blindly flail forward shoving genetically engineered seeds, crops and food down the throats of humans and animals. But let’s talk about that bread. For years, there’s been talk about the world’s staple — wheat — being genetically engineered. In 2013, Mike Adams reported on those Oregon organic wheat farmers whose crop was contaminated by GE seed:
“Why is this a big deal? Because GE wheat has never been approved for commercialization or sale. These strains of GE wheat escaped from GMO field experiments conducted across 16 states by Monsanto from 1998 to 2005. As the USDA states, “Further testing by USDA laboratories indicates the presence of the same GE glyphosate-resistant wheat variety that Monsanto was authorized to field test in 16 states from 1998 to 2005.”
In 2014, Montana wheat farmers discovered the same problem, according to USA Today, it was “more than a decade after the crop was legally tested there between 2000 and 2003.
If contaminated wheat seed was able to survive over a decade in Oregon and Montana, how many organic wheat farmers across America will be subject to a GMO seed invasion? The US is the largest exporter of wheat in the world while and more and more countries are saying no to GMO. But maybe that won’t matter, because the new so called “more precise” technology that creates a genetically engineered product that the USDA says needs no regulation.
This CRISPER-Cas9 technology is now in vogue and, according to GM Watch, “CRISPR has [already]been road-tested in crops, including wheat, rice, soybeans, potatoes, sorghum, oranges and tomatoes.”
These CRISPER crops won’t be labeled either. They will go into our fields and guts without our knowledge.
