In an unprovoked attack that sparked fears of another wave of terrorist attacks across France, a Jewish teacher in Marseille has reportedly been stabbed by alleged ISIS supporters.
According to The Guardian, “Three people on two scooters, one of them wearing an Isis T-shirt, approached the teacher and showed him a picture on a mobile phone of Mohamed Merah, a homegrown Islamist militant who killed seven people in a series of attacks in southern France in 2012.”
Before stabbing the teacher, the suspects allegedly insulted and harassed the victim with anti-Semitic remarks.
The 57-year-old victim, who was wearing a kippah at the time of the attack, was targeted at around 8pm as he was leaving the Yavne cultural center in the north of the city, which functions both as a school and synagogue.
The teacher, who escaped critical injuries, is now recovering while investigation is underway.
This assault comes not long after the death of Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the mastermind of the Paris terror attacks, who was killed in the November 18 St. Denis siege.
