The Atlantic to hire discredited writer who suggested Donald Trump is having sex with his own daughter

Now former Politico reporter, Julia Ioffe, recently fell victim to her own words when she suggested in a Twitter post earlier this month that Donald Trump is having sexual intercourse with his very own daughter, Ivanka. The tweet led to Ioffe’s premature departure from Politico Magazine. “This tweet is completely unacceptable and is an obvious violation of Politico standards,” a source with the magazine told The Daily Caller. “Julia Ioffe is no longer with the publication.”

Ioffe’s controversial Twitter post included an attached link to a news report from The Hill. The linked article stated that Ivanka Trump will be using office space inside the White House. The office space in reference is typically reserved for the first lady. Ioffe’s shocking comment above the news link said, “Either Trump is ****ing his daughter or he’s shirking nepotism laws. Which is worse?”

Ioffe subsequently fired off a few more tweets in defense of her inappropriate remarks. “We have a president-elect who popularized ‘saying what everyone is thinking,’ but I guess my phrasing should’ve been more delicate.” Ioffe continued with a seemingly fake apology, “I take back what I said about Ivanka and just let her father, our president, speak for me.” There was a video attachment on the latter post which featured Donald Trump saying, “If Ivanka weren’t my daughter perhaps I would be dating her.” Unfortunately for Ioffe, the video of Trump speaking for himself does not imply anything sexual; Trump was simply hyping up his daughter in true Donald Trump fashion.

The disgraced reporter will now be joining The Atlantic starting in January, where her role will be to report on foreign policy and U.S. politics. The Atlantic issued a press release, via Twitter, stating that Ioffe admits and regrets her mistake, however, she remains confident that she will be able to adhere to her new publication’s standards when she begins working for them next month.

Previously, Ioffe was in the news for causing drama with Melania Trump, by posting a negative profile of her. Ioffe received many anti-Semitic tweets in response to her Melania profiling. Melania responded to the incident by saying that Ioffe could have provoked those tweets.

Ioffe had previously announced that she would be leaving her part-time contract position with Politico to take up work at The Atlantic, covering politics and foreign policy. It was during her final two weeks there that she fired off the offensive Twitter post – causing her early release.
